I wasn't satisfied with that, so went to Ortho Carolina on Randolph Road in Charlotte. I was treated like a human being by the entire staff. By then, I had found a crutch to aid in walking, but they were very sympathetic and offered to help. They had me change into a pair of sports shorts and put me on the table and did a thorough examination of my knee. The PA looked at the x-rays from Novant and said I had quite a bit of arthritis --contrary to what James Forrest, PA said. He drew the fluid off--which was quite a bit--and gave me a cortisone shot and a brace to wear. He told me if it didn't get much better in a few weeks to let them know and we could order an MRI. They know how to treat their patients at Ortho Carolina!!!
This practice was very efficient. They worked me in the same day that I called. I was having wrist pain from a mountain bike injury. Thankfully it wasn't broken. Jamie the PA took care of me. He told me it was a tendon issue. He gave me instructions on how to take care of it. He was very helpful and seemed genuinely concerned about me. I had a good experience here.
DO NOT GO HERE. I went in to have my knees checked. my primary doctor performed and exam and determined i had torn something. after x-rays i was given a shot in my left knee and told to get dressed. the nurse came to the door and said that i could go, the exit was to the left. I barely made it to the front desk. The front desk person got a wheel chair and and wheeled me to my car. The pain from the injection became worse and i eventually couldnt even walk. I called them back and they told me that didnt normally happen. to wait till tomorrow and see if it got any better. I will not be going back there and i would recommend anyone stay away.
PLEASE DO NOT GO TO NOVANT ORTHOPEDIC AND SPORTS MEDICINE IN HUNTERSVILLE!!!
This was the worst experience I have ever had with a health care provider! I went to their clinic on August 28th with a knee injury. Although I could barely walk, no one assisted me in or out of the building. I was sent to have x-rays then to the treatment room. A man walked in with his name tag flipped around and I asked him if he was the doctor. He said yes--when in fact he was a PA (James Forrest). As I sat in a chair fully clothed, he held my ankle and gently wiggled my leg. Then said the x-rays showed that I had a little arthritis, told me to ice it. I asked if I needed an MRI, and he said if I wanted one they would have someone contract me to set it up. 4 days later a girl called from Novant to set it up. I was irritated that no one had called me sooner, as I couldn't walk without severe pain. She laughed in my face and said "THAT'S WHY YOU CAN'T WALK". Very rude and insulting.
**Update** I visited another Orthopedics in Charlotte and was suspected of a torn meniscus. MRI confirmed i have it in both knees. This clinic wanted me to go to physical therapy which would have been a painful mistake.
I was having right knee pain for months from running. I went to see Jamie Forrest, the PA for this practice. He did a great job explaining my diagnosis. He reviewed my x-rays with me and gave me a prescription for the inflammation. I also got some exercises to do at home. The staff was very friendly and I would recommend this practice to my friends and family. Great job!
