Great place to study/see circa 1800 life. Reenactments, tours of the house, open grounds in the style of the 1800's. Barn and additional period cabin's viewable by all ages. Great to bring a picnic and then use the park to enjoy lunch...
We love this place!! I love the history behind it and the events they have, especially the civil war re-enactment. Definitely worth the trip
Guides are very knowledgeable in the facility has been recreated beautifully. It is apparent that the staff is very engaged with the experience and ensures that children have a positive take away as well as a realistic understanding of the historical significance of the site. The mix of modern amenities along with the historically significant and recreated buildings make it a great experience for school groups as well as families.
I have used the hiking trails many times. This visit was for the raptor center. Beautiful birds of preybeing rehabilitated. What a gem of a place and the staff is excellent! Kids would love it. Go there!!
