Yes, it is extremely frigid in the movie. I can understand air conditioning, but I don't believe it has to be that cold. Makes me want to stay home and try to watch something on TV. Otherwise the seating is fine but way way too many ads. We also got in the wrong movie. We asked for Kingman and just picked up the tickets without looking and she said theater number 5 and we went in there and it was the Stray. We decided to stay as that was a movie that was on our list. It was my first time in your theater as I just moved here from Minnesota.
At some point, location will stop saving this theater. It reminds me of those old dilapidated dollar theaters. The theater is tired, needs complete updates. The chairs are so uncomfortable, and the lobby is small. The volume is so loud that I refuse to go anymore. Honestly Birkdale should come in and demand better, because you are bringing the Village down.
Sound in the RPX theatre (poor mans imax, even though it's more expensive) has to be among the worst I've ever heard. Dialogue at a whisper, action at ear bursting garbled levels. Just a sound mess. 3D seemed below par as well on the semi-giant screen. Seriously, just drive further for a decent theatre. You're gonna pay the same amount if not more and this theater is likely to ruin your night.
Horrendous concessions. Expect a 10-15 minute wait in line with a staff moving in slow motion. 3 people in line in front of me and 15 minutes to serve popcorn and coke is above and beyond your typical lazy theater staff. No problem customers, no machine failure no accidents... Just unbelievably slow and lazy service.
Horrible lines for concessions made us 5-10 minutes late for the start of the movie. Waited 15 minutes in line for popcorn (which they ran out of and got back in stock all while I was waiting in line). Staff was overrun, doing the best they could. Need process changes and or better scheduling...
The staff is friendly, you can buy tickets on-line, SCORE! However, the entire theatre was FREEZING! It was so cold everyone in our theater was bundles up, had it been a date, perhaps snuggling would have been appropriate, but that wasn't the case, and it wasn't only my friend and I who were complaining. At 1pm there were also no hot dogs cooked at the concession stand so my friend waited 10 minutes (luckily we got there on time and the 20 minutes of previews gave her time to wait for her order.) Anyway, a bit more preparation and some attention to the needs of the shivering and I might have added another star. If I go back, it will be with blankets.
In an effort to offer constructive criticism... Beer and reserved seats were a plus. Literally everything else I encountered ranged from below par to outright infuriating. Never again.
